This week we have been using rice, unifix and water to measure and compare the capacity of different containers.

We are getting really great at learning our 10's facts. We even found numbers in phone numbers that added to ten. 

Planting beans

We are trying to grow our own magical beanstalks in our classroom!  Today we planted 3 broad beans in jars.  We will watch them and see what happens over the next week.  Will they grow as big as Jack's beanstalk?

A visit from a giant!

Today we all got a suprise to find a huge giant sized footprint left in our classroom!  We thought it must be from the giant in Jack and the Beanstalk.  We decided to find out how many of our feet would fit inside the footprint.  We guessed and then we measured by tracing around our feet and then sticking them on to the footprint.  11 of our feet fit inside the giants footprint!  Caitlyn, Jono and Mitch guessed exactly the right number.  We looked for the giant in the playground but we couldn't find him!

Fairytales

This term our classroom has been transformed into a magical Fairytale world.  We are having great fun reading and dressing up as fairytale characters.  There are lots of lessons we can learn from fairytales and we will be exploring as many as we can this term.  This week we read Cinderella.
