Fun Times!

Some great things have been happening in Prep B!

The students created their own Zoo pictures and wrote some stories about them.

We have been learning about 'I-messages' in Prep B  and the students enjoyed doing some role playing using ‘I-messages’.             ‘I-messages’ are a peaceful way to resolve conflict.  When a student does something to hurt another student they can simply say something like ‘When you…(hit me) I feel... (sad) because… (you hurt me) Next time...(Please don’t do it).

Claire Everton brought in some beautiful puppets and performed ‘Cinderella’ for the students.  The performance was filled with singing, drama, magic and humor.   Some students were able to come up and hold the puppets at the end.  This was an enjoyable experience for all involved.

Last week the students made some very creative box creations out of recycled materials and enjoyed sharing their favourite endangered animal with the class.

On Friday the students enjoyed the Junior School Christmas Lunch.  They made hats and place mats for the lunch and then enjoyed a meal of chicken and vegetables, followed by a yummy ice cream for dessert!

Exciting Times!

Term four is well underway! This term the students have been learning about threatened, endangered and extinct animals.  They have created a beautiful picture each and have begun some research in class on their chosen endangered animal.

Through the Life Education Program the students have discovered how to be healthy, safe and look after themselves.

They enjoyed a range of activities including choosing which foods were healthy and which were not and discussing why.

They learnt that if a medicine bottle clicks it means ‘Stop, Danger’ and not to open it. They also learnt about things that protect us like bike helmets and hats.

The students were taught about different parts of the body including the heart, the lungs and the brain!

Prep B explored different types of feelings and enjoyed patting Harold the giraffe!

Last week students had the opportunity to make some Lego Models with Mr Blamey which they thoroughly enjoyed!  This included a paper-crimping machine.  The students had lots of fun crimping paper!

Footy Week
Footy week was lots of fun! Prep B made a picture graph showing how many students went for each team, they did some footy maths problem solving and made up their own footy teams in pairs including a team name, team colours, team jumper, team mascot and a team chant or song.  The students came up with some creative ideas.

On Friday it was great to see so many parents come in for the open morning and help their children make footy flags.  The students also all participated in the footy parade, liked playing the range of footy sports in group rotations and many students enjoyed a footy lunch.

At the end of term 3 we also said farewell to Haoming who has moved schools.  He has been a fantastic member of Prep B! We will miss him but wish him all the best.
