SWIMMING

Prep B had a wonderful time swimming.  The bus ride and going to the pool each day was exciting!  The students learnt how to put their head underwater, blow bubbles, kick and float.  They also used life jackets, kick boards, pool noodles and learnt a range of different stokes.  Some even learnt how to dive!

In class, we did a brainstorm of the students’ knowledge at the beginning of swimming (in red) and added to it at the end of swimming (in green).

The students did some writing about what they thought swimming would be like and how they felt about going.  Students had the opportunity to unjumble some swimming sentences based on the words the students came up with in the brainstorm.  They enjoyed this challenge and it helped reinforce their knowledge of swimming words and sentence structure.

Students drew pictures for a range of swimming vocabulary and at the end of swimming they all drew some creative pictures about swimming, what they learnt and liked.  I hope you enjoy some of Prep B’s work!
